Reproductive choices are a personal decision. This work was created for the "Plan B" traveling jewelry exhibition, a benefit for Planned Parenthood.
This necklace is about the fertility cycle.
The sterling silver setting is filled with 112 cubic zirconia (CZ's) and 8 genuine diamonds. The diamonds we chose all fluoresce, (which means that they GLOW under a UV light). The only way to tell which ones are the diamonds is by using this specialized light source. The ratio of CZ's to diamonds is representational of how many days per month human eggs are fertile- which is generally between one and two days.
Which day is viable for pregnancy is only the business of the person or people that are deciding whether or not to have children.
What other people choose to do is not your business.
