The recipient of this bracelet LOVES turquoise. Her son commissioned it for a special birthday present. The starting point of this bracelet was for it to have four major features:
- Turquoise (the now closed, justly famous "Number 8 Mine" only)
- Peridot- the "night emerald", often found in the Southwest, to honor both the recipient and her father's August birthday
- A crescent moon, which was the moon on the night her father passed away. Subtly placed, so it is somewhat like a secret. Grief is often a very private process.
- A design that would be really comfortable for someone with Osteoporosis. Nothing that will aggravate the wrist bone and will give soft feeling for the wearer.
The end result is a truly spectacular turquoise bracelet. Flip it to look at the inside of the wrist, and one sees an excellent pair of large peridot. Take it off and you see the crescent moon. It truly is a representation of getting to know someone better. What they show the world, what they let their friends see, and what they think about inside their own head.
