This diamond is amazing. The center stone is a 2.44 carat European cut. It is over 8 mm in diameter. The stone has a super-tall crown and a small table, which means that colors- pure spectral colors in large flashes come out of it, especially in low light situations. Some people like modern brilliant cut diamonds, others prefer the antique cuts. This diamond is of the antique variety and was cut around 1890–1910. It is exceptionally clean and is a very colorless stone. The diamond has two stones of matching cut and color, about 70 points each, on either side. They are all set into bezels, in a handmade platinum shank with a weighted Euro shank to keep it from flipping over. Large, colorless and clean diamonds ARE rare despite what you might read in some places. This ring has a total carat weight of 3.84 carats, set into a half ounce of platinum. It would be about $28,000 to $40,000 to make it again as it is seen here. It can also be made on a much smaller scale for about $6,000- to $8,000. Love it.
