Light Blue Sapphire and 18K Ring

Light Blue Sapphire and 18K Ring

A little lesson for you: sapphires come in ALL colors. If they are red, it is a ruby. If it is pink, it is called a pink sapphire. Yellow, green, violet, orange, padparadscha- all of these are sapphire colors and we call them "fancy colored sapphires". If it is blue, even light blue, it is simply called a sapphire. Many blue sapphires are so dark they appear black. We politely refer to these stones as "inky" sapphires.

Here is a light blue sapphire. We went in search of a stone that matched the color of her eyes and we found it! This oval weighs 1.94 carats. It is light and bright.  The style of the bride was described as "tailored and classic". She does not go for prints on her clothing, and will save her pennies to buy something from Armani rather than 10 pieces of quick, rapid- burnout designs. Knowing this, we made a gracefully curved and tapered band, featuring a nicely tapered bezel, all in 18K yellow. This ring looks great from all angles- top, side, and all angles.

Sapphires vary widely in price, it all depends on the size and cost of the gem. To recreate this ring would cost about $3,600-.
