This bracelet is made from the side panel of a decommissioned London double decker bus. Once we figured out how to bend the panel without disturbing the gorgeous red surface, we had at it and figured out some great designs. This one has a sterling silver tube symbol on it which represents the London Underground.
This bracelet was made for an exhibition in London which was put together for the benefit of the homeless and disadvantaged. A coalition of US metalsmiths got together and put together some some wonderful submissions for out friends across the pond. We were pleased to be asked to make some pieces for the show.
Next time on a double decker bus, think on how many bracelets could be made out of the carapace. It is probably the same as the amount of holes that it would take to fill the Royal Albert Hall.
