This bracelet was made with some fantastic ingredients. The RED bracelet used to be a side panel of an iconic London double decker bus. We were asked to join a US coalition of metalsmiths to put together some work for a benefit show for the homeless and disadvantaged in London. They sent each of us a side panel from a bus and let loose on making pieces for the show.
Atop the bracelet sits a BIG cubic zirconia (CZ) . We have had this CZ since doing work for MtV in the early 90's. It was just waiting for something to be worthy of it. We built a handmade setting out of sterling silver and riveted it to the bracelet with some serious jeweler kung-fu. In a way, it is a joke on wearing big jewels on public transport. A big no-no in our book, and the irony is what makes this so successful.
