The iconic golden silk curtain has opened up to countless performances at the world-famous stage at the Metropolitan Opera.
When the Opera House replaced the curtain, we were asked to make jewelry out of the original golden silk. Opera music and stage productions is almost like a religion to many, so we got to thinking about icons and how they are displayed- relics like the dead sea scrolls, the shroud of Christ, or a piece of the original cross.
We have carefully cut out a 1/2" circle of the original golden silk and placed it behind glass. The words "MetOpera" are inscribed on the back of the earring. To purchase these dangle earrings, do so directly through the Opera Shop.
